Turmeric Hummus

Turmeric is famous for it’s anti-inflammatory properties and tastes great in hummus. The black pepper activates the anti-inflammatory properties in the turmeric so make sure not to skimp on it!

Ingredients

  • 400g can of chickpeas

  • 1/3 cup tahini

  • Juice of 1 large lemon

  • 2 large cloves of garlic

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ - 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • ½ tsp cumin

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper  

  • ⅛ - ¼ cup of water

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients, except the water, to a food processor

  2. Start by adding only an ⅛ cup of water and add more if necessary

  3. You may need to stop blending from time to time to scrap the sides down

  4. Serve with cucumber, carrot, or bell pepper slices, pita bread, or mixed into salads!
